Chief Experience Officer
Jason grew up getting away with an acceptable amount of mischief as the son of the Chief of Police in Bemidji, MN. He was a gearhead from the get go and an All-Star hockey player in High School. Jason has since hung up the skates in favor of running with his wife and vacationing family style.
Jason found advertising through an insatiable need to understand why. Why things are built the way they are. Why people do the things they do. And why a kid who was good at math and loved art would want to start messing with interactive design and development.
Jason was lucky in that his first agency job encouraged experimentation and the permission to fail – both necessary in order to learn and grow. In an agency of over 200, he was the only person doing interactive work, which meant insanely long hours but also a lot of time with senior management and C-suite clients. This experience gave Jason the confidence to start Wolfmotell in 1998 with two of Modern Climate’s founding partners.
At Modern Climate, Jason is responsible for leading the User Experience team and for measuring performance of the experiences we create through custom analytics. He lends his ability to see and map out complex experiences and feeds off of collaborating with others to solve problems in creative, relevant and novel ways. Jason loves building experiences that catch the wave of momentum consumers create around exciting new technologies and delivering something exceptionally cool.
